Mailbox columns are installed throughout the United States. Regulations regarding mailbox installaion must be understood prior to building a MaytRx Mailbox column.

Construction of a MaytRx Mailbox column is started by building a MaytRx column as shown here. Consideration to the setting of the footing's depth is necessary to allow the mailbox to be located at the desired height knowing that the MaytRx stones are 6 inches thick.

At the designated level the Column mailbox is set on the column's stones and centered. Splitting and cutting stones as shown will continue the external apperance of the column. Note: these pictures represent one way to build a MaytRx mailbox column. Other layouts are equally acceptable to coninue the external appearance of the column.

An approximate 3/4 inch gab between the 6 inch MaytRx stones and the MaytRx Mailbox will allow the MaytRx capstones to span across the column mailbox when setting the layers above the column mailbox.

Column mailbox dimensions should be:

	Box
width	8 1/2 inch
height	11 1/2 inch
depth	15 inch

Columns of nearby any size greater than 20 inches by 20 inches can be built.

Use paver grade adhesive to secure the modified MaytRx stones that are set around and above the mailbox.

These pictures will show this 25 inch by 20 inch mailbox column's construction.

Build a level base with ready mix concrete on compacted aggregate on virgin grade soil. This column is 25 inches wide by 20 inches deep.

The alternate layer are turned 90 degrees to cross the seems of the stones. Here a 5 inch stone piece expands the alternate layer's width to 25 inches. The corner stones are split along the front to back split groove on an A, B, or Y stone.

Several layers have been set alternating the direction of the seams in the MaytRx stones.

The bottom of the mailbox should be 42 to 48 inches above the ground or street level.

MaytRx stones need to be cut or split to set around the box portion of the column where the mailbox is located.

MaytRx cap stones will span across the box part of the column mailbox.

11.375 inches high by 13.125 inches wide by 10 inches deep. This mailbox will require a special cap to span across the box.
